The Need There is a significant need for an all-abilities daycare center in Mentor, Ohio. Currently there are very limited options for children with special needs to attend day care, after school programs, and social activities. Families are often turned away from traditional day care centers because their child is "not a good fit" leaving working parents struggling to find safe and reliable options for their children during the day. The Plan Pieces Early Learning is planning on expanding our in-home ABA business to include a day care center! At Pieces Early Learning Center children can play and learn with staff who understand their individual needs. Day care classes will consist of 6 to 10 children with a Lead teacher and an assistant in each room. The center will feature sensory areas, a gross motor area, and an extracurricular area with rotating activities clients can participate in. Activities will include but are not limited to sports, cooking, art classes, and social groups. Individual rooms are also available at the center where ABA, Speech, and Occupational Therapy will also be offered as pull-out sessions during our daycare program. Fundraising There are significant start-up costs involved in order to ensure a safe and educational environment for children of all abilities to benefit from. Costs include adaptive gross motor and sensory equipment, child sized furniture for multiple age groups, educational and extra curricular activity materials, safety equipment, and startup staffing costs to keep class sizes extremely small. Partnership Pieces Early Learning Center is looking to partner with companies to help our client's with haircuts, dentistry, doctors' visits, and more! |
